Zoom introduces the H6studio, the most advanced entry in its H-series of portable recorders. Designed for field production, music, and podcasting, the H6studio integrates studio-level audio fidelity and flexible I/O into a compact, all-in-one handheld.
At the heart is 32-bit float recording paired with dedicated gain knobs and a format switch for seamless toggling between float and standard 16/24-bit modes. Combined with F-Series mic preamps delivering a low noise floor (~–127 dBu EIN) and dual A/D converters, it achieves an expansive 132 dB dynamic range, preserving delicate details and preventing clipping in high-contrast live capture environments.
Bundled with a large-diaphragm XY capsule, the H6studio captures clean stereo imagery up to 140 dB SPL with minimal phase artifacts. It records up to eight tracks simultaneously—six discrete channels plus a stereo mix—at sample rates up to 192 kHz, with full 8-track support at 96 kHz. As a robust USB interface, it delivers multichannel streaming and recording to macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android systems.
Zoom includes essential production features geared toward field efficiency: RF shielding to suppress wireless interference, shock-mounted mic capsule support, onboard speaker playback, headphone and line outputs, and a color display for gain metering. Audio tools like normalize, start tone, low-cut filtering, and playback speed control streamline field workflows. Power options are equally flexible—run on AA batteries for up to 15 hours or via USB/AC adapter.
The H6studio builds on the strengths of its predecessors and elevates them significantly. Its combination of 32-bit float architecture, noise-averse preamps, high channel count, and rugged design makes it a powerful portable studio tool. Whether capturing sound for film, music, or live events, it delivers transparency and versatility without compromising mobility.
